Voice comparison

Whose voice do you prefer?
A screaming V10 or mellow V8?
I'd go for the 8 cylinder =)

UnBoxing a thing of beauty

The Boxster might only be an entry level Porsche, but engineers made sure that the newest installment was seen by petrol-heads as a smaller variant instead of a lesser one. The newest Boxster S, on the other hand, improved leaps and bounds when compared to its predecessor.

When we focus on its exterior, we can see significant changes especially at the rear, with restyled rear lights which adds a fresh touch to this roadster. We notice a more angular rear valence too. It just looks a tad more beefy and masculine with these new aesthetic additions. Yes, Porsche stylists did not go lazy on the Boxster. Surprising, isn't it?

Trademark central twin exhausts and rear side air intakes differentiate itself from competitors such as the 370Z and TT-RS. Being mid engined, I wouldn't be surprised if it has a keener turn in and traction will not be a problem with the weight of the engine pinning down the splendid rear wheel drive platform. Seems like a perfect recipe, but the owner admits having wheelspin quite easily with its CSC3 tyres. Then again, learning the skill of taming a roadster is part of the fun package. I guess this has all to do with the immense amount of usable torque low down the rev range from the high revving and ultra responsive 3.4 litre flat 6 engine.

310bhp might not be numbers impressive enough to scare away boy racers, but get behind the wheel and we must admit that not many automobiles match up to the Boxster S when it comes to engine refinement. The naturally aspirated motor adds to the driving experience, with sensitive throttle response at the driver's command.

You might wonder why all of the pictures focus on the exterior. I always leave the best bits to a later date and yes, the interior of the Boxster S is a thing of beauty. I'll post them up soon. As for now, let's enjoy the Boxster S as a whole before we dive into the details of this German piece of art.
