Travelling in lightweight fashion

I've always wanted to test drive a Lotus, as I'm a fan of their motoring philosophy of obtaining maximum performance through weight shaving.

Have a look at this video and marvel at how nimble it is through the slalom.

A lightweight RWD sportster.. what more can petrolheads ask for?

Super Duper Supra

Why did I miss out on Supra-spotting when in Sydney. I want to see it in the flesh so badly.

Here's a few reasons why..

They won't be extinct, at least not at the moment

Whenever I leave home and take a leisure drive around Singapore, I'll tend to leave a small gap on the driver's window for two reasons: ventilation and preparing myself for potential "music to my ears" if a monster appears in my rear view mirror.

Singapore has possibly the highest concentration of souped up cars. You'll most likely chance upon a tastefully modified machine regardless where you are, be it in the neighbourhood or downtown.

Once in a while, you can find a Gallardo Superleggera parked in Holland V on a Saturday.. or a convoy of FD2Rs at a T junction somewhere in Bukit Merah. The range of performance cars here in Singapore is huge, from head turning Italian exotics to JDMs boasting tremendous horses and not to forget a bone shattering ride.

I heard him first before spotting him, thanks to the quad MINES exhaust.

New shoes

After much thought and weighing pros and cons, I finally took the plunge to purchase Advan's ad08. Steel cord side walls are flat which gives a better visual appeal.. Grooves are exceptionally deep.. Soft compound is used and rubber will turn sticky when tyres warm up.. Tyre noise is horrendous haha but I had expected it since there's so much contact on the road.. Still running in and hope I'll have a gd trip up north this weekend..

Wheel-Whores

HAHA i love this sticker

All Blacks

This is the first photoshoot with a new look. Rims have been sprayed matte black, rear lights have been stickered r32 style and front windows have been tinted as well. Jeff's CW GTi accompanied me throughout the shoot.

I WANT this front mount!

Stopping power

Anodised chrome ATS 4 pot front big brake kit have finally arrived. Installed on the 10th of July after a six week wait.

Bye Bye front R32 brakes. Yes, you are good enough but I don't like the amount of modulation needed to brake in a smooth manner. I guess that's one of the limitations coming from a single piston caliper.

Chrome calipers look extremely shiny. Initially i thought that the rotors come in black haha. It's actually an anti-rust coating which will be removed after a few rounds of braking. Notice the bolts holding the 2 piece rotors in place. Heard from the workshop boss that those bolts can be found on Alcons as well.

Me checking out the front right brakes which are yet to be installed. Taking the opportunity to know more about diff parts of bbks as well.

Red 6 pot with cross drilled and slotted rotors. I didn't request for these rotors because I feel the design is a little too cluttered for my liking, but it ensures better heat dissipation of course.

Finally installed. Yellow brake pads have a range from 0 - 600 degrees. Enough for street use and it does not have as much screeching noise as higher temperature pads.

I'll give a review of the brakes when they are fully bedded in.

After a month long hiatus from car blogging, I should have plenty of info to share.

Flashy cars in China aren't in abundance as compared to Singapore but there's still a handful of Supercars roaming Shanghai's business and shopping district.

I will touch on car sightings in the near future but I would love to share a video by the Russian VAG society named"VAGBURG". They produce awesome videos with stunning automobile content to match.

Have a look at their VAG festival held this year.

Enjoy! Nice music too.

Plenty of Golfs from the Iconic mk 1 to the latest mk 6.

Very impressed with the tastefully modded mkIVs.
