Definition of "Muscle"

Muscle cars hail from across the Pacific. Must admit that i'm not a huge fan of them, possibly due to the extremely high road tax here in tiny Singapore (have not seen even 1 here). I'm more inclined to European models. They may not be as "muscular" as the Americans but the amount of sophistication and technology involved are way superior IMO.

A tribute to the MKV GTI

The Mk VI Golf GTI will be in Singapore by Aug. Can't wait to have a close look at it. the Mk VI Golf, in my opinion, looks more like a mini SUV than a hatch, but im sure with the right bodykit and coils on, it wil be a big hit. Saw a 1.4 Golf Sport along PIE last month. I must say tt it takes quite some getting used to, as with most new cars.

Before we see a sudden influx of Roccos and Mk VI on the roads, let us pay some special attention to the close to faultless Mk V GTI

S3: The bachelor's car

The Audi S3 is a rare sight on Singapore roads, due to its hefty price tag. Waiting for the s3 Sportback to arrive. People may wonder, "why fork out so much when i can use the cash for a comfy 5 series?" Others may rather go for the iconic Golf GTI (way cheaper), Mini Cooper S ("yes i want 2 red stripes overlapping the prominant air scoop") or even the Megane F1 edition.

But what u pay is what u get. Branding, trademark handling, big K04 turbo. AND the s3 BADGE. Ppl look at u in another manner, deep down inside they know that he/she better not mess around with the driver.

World's fastest Avant

This video may be old but its well worth watching over and over again. With this Audi RS6 Avant, you can afford to wake ur kids up later for sch, do groceries up North, gym way down South, and still have time to spare for Latte at Starbucks. Man, just have a listen to this Lambo-sourced V10. (watch this video a second time and keep your eyes glued on the fuel gauge. Almost 1/4 tank in 4 mins.)

First Up

This being my first entry, let me start out with 2 of my favourite performance cars. In my opinion, they need not have to be the fastest. They just have to stand out in their class.

Representing the land of rising sun, the Mitsubishi Evo X, with her muscular arch and mean stare, seem to have all grown up. With an all new aluminium engine (4B11), coupled with the highly regarded Active Yaw Control (AYC), this Wasabi, aided with well planned aftermarket performance parts, can well be a potential supercar slayer.

All the way across into Munich lies the BMW production plant. The 3 series has always been applauded for its trademark handling. The car I'm talking abt might not be the most powerful in its coupe class, but with its award winning silky smooth inline 6 paired with twin turbos and mated to the new Dual Clutch transmission (DCT), it will surely make heads turn. The coupe version certainly enhances that cool factor. Yes, she's the BMW 335i coupe.
